“Nanyang” (南洋) was a term first used to refer to the lush and culturally diverse regions of Southeast Asia. As migrants settled in the region throughout the decades – as it is so today – the melting pot of Nanyang flourished. Not only did migrants bring their culinary traditions to the land, but they also started to infuse local ingredients and meld their cuisines with the native fare.

New Nanyang (新南洋) therefore represents this symbol of innovation and thriving in today’s contemporary setting. While embracing modernity, there remains a deliberate effort to preserve the essence of familiarity that evokes the warmth and comfort of home.
